Mike Ruso acts as managing editor of Thru Hike the PCT and our sister site Thru Hike Florida.
Mike has thru-hiked the Appalachian Trail, Florida Trail, and Pacific Crest Trail, as well as paddling the entire 1500-mile coastline of Florida in a kayak. Mike and his paddling partner Dan Dick were the first people to thru-paddle the Florida Circumnavigational Saltwater Paddling Trail from west to east. Tess Ippolito earned a Masters in Environmental Science and Policy from the University of California, Berkley as well as bachelor degrees in biology and chemistry from the University of South Florida.
In addition to thru-hiking the Florida Trail and Pacific Crest Trail, she has worked as an environmental regulator for the Southwest Florida Water Management District and taught high school biology and chemistry.
